How Are You Doing With God’s Command To Forgive Others?
Colossians 3:12-13 “Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgives you.” Isaiah 55:7 “Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts, let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God , for he will freely pardon.” Psalm 130 “But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence serve you.” Matthew 6:12, 15 “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Luke 6:37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” I. Forgiveness Is A Choice William Willimon - “The human animal is not supposed to be good at forgiveness. Forgiveness is not some innate, natural human emotion. Vengeance, retribution, violence, these are natural human qualities. It is natural for the human animal to snarl and crouch into a defensive position when attacked, to howl when wronged, to bite back when bitten. Forgiveness is not natural.” “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day Jesus Christ returns.” ~ Philippians 1:6 “Isaiah 43:25 “I am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sin no more.” II. Character Traits Of Believers Put on- means to put on these clothes as a believer These are the qualities that indicate we are believers: A heart of compassion- 1st character trait to mark the believer Kindness - mellowing all that may be harsh in us with grace. Humility - opposite of self-love that poisons believers in church Gentleness-4th character trait not weakness – not spinelessness, Patience- one who does not get angry at others Bearing with one another- endure, hold out in spite of the murmer, insults, refuse to retaliate. “when we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure” ~ 1 Corinthians 4:12 Forgiving each other -7th character trait, Means to always be gracious FORGIVING SOMEONE WHO HAS HURT YOU MAY WELL BE ONE OF THE MOST DIFFICULT THINGS YOU WILL EVER DO. III. Forgiveness Is Not The Same As Reconciliation “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath.” ~ Romans 12:18-19

Can You Trust God With Your Finances?

    1 Chronicles 29:10-14

“David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, ‘Praise be to you, O Lord, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.’ But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” ~1 Chronicles 29: 10-14

“Lord, all of this was yours from the beginning and we have just given back to you what was already yours.”

God Is The Source Of Every Blessing In Your Life

Every good thing in your life has come to you as a gift from God

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down
From the Father of the heavenly lights.” ~ James 1:17

“You may say to yourself, ‘My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.’ But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who give you the ability to produce wealth.” ~ Deuteronomy 8: 17-18

    11. God Designed Us To be Givers Not Takers Nor Holders

“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
    ~ John 7: 37-38

    A. W. Tozer wrote,

“There is a disease that is spreading rapidly in the 20th Century. It is called CIRRHOSIS OF THE GIVER. It is an acute condition, which renders the patient’s hand immobile, when it attempts to move from the billfold to the offering plate. The remedy is to remove the afflicted person from the House of God, since it is clinically observable that this condition disappears in environments such as the sports stadiums, shopping malls, and restaurants.”

    111. The More You Give, The More You Are Blessed

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “ ~ Luke 6: 38

“Give away your life; you’ll find life given back, but not merely given back – given back with bonus and blessings. Giving, not getting , is the way. Generosity begets generosity.” (The Message)

1V. Give To God and He Promises To Meet Your Financial Needs

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, And your vats will overflow with good wine.” ~Proverbs 3:9-10

“Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But, how do we rob you? In tithes and offerings…Bring the whole tithe into the church. Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty and see if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessings that you will not have room for it”

    ~ Malachi 3:8-10A

“Take a lesson from the ants…they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter.: ~ Proverbs 6:6,8
