"Expect criticism , rumors do not get paranoid. Your friends will never believe it. Your enemies have been waiting for this'

III. A Humble Minister Gives All Glory To God

Vs 17 " But he who boost is to boost in the Lord's

    God Made You Unique

    2 Corinthians 10:7-18

William Barclay “there can be no finer definition of the church than a fellowship of forgiven sinners”

    1st John 4:1
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God.”

Question number one: Is there a true and growing relationship with Jesus Christ?

    Question number two:

Not only is there a true and growing relationship with the Lord.
Is there a building up or tearing down of people?

Question number three: Is there pride or humility?

Vs12, this is Paul speaking sarcastically, “WE don”t dare put ourselves in the same class with those who think they are so important. We don”t compare ourselves to them. They use themselves to measure themselves. They judge themselves by what they themselves are. This shows that they know nothing.

    The Spiritual War is Real

    2 Corinthians 10:1-6

''Is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers and the powers and the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.''

John said, ''I have no greater joy than this; to see, My children walking in the truth.''

    I. Satanic Fortress

Meekness- humble & gentle attitude results in patient endurance.

Gentleness- the word here means leniency.

LET US UNDERSTAND TODAY NO ONE IS IMMUNE TO SATANIC ATTACK.

''Be angry and yet do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your anger and do not give the devil a place.'' Eph. 4:26

    Place-opportunity, top of the ground

Fortress- refers to prison or a tomb - stronghold.

A stronghold in your life is hard to come out once the devil gets set up with a small sin – HE IS ENTRENCHED.

A stronghold is wrongful thinking that leads to wrong doing.

    Satanic Fortresses:

Anger – Bitterness – Compulsive Behavior – Despair – Eating Disorders

Fear – Greed – Hypocrisy – Impatience – Judgmental spirit – Holding grudge

    Legalism – Materialism – Need for approval – Obsessive Behavior – Pornography – Quarrelsome spirit – Revenge – Self-pity – Temper uncontrolled – Unforgiving spirit – Violent Nature – Worry -
Xenophobia (fear of strangers or any phobia) Yoga (not physical side but spiritual side) – Zeal (unguided or misplaced)

II. You Can Live Free of Satanic Strongholds

vs 3. ''For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.''

''The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.''

''I was determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.''

    ''I wasn't trusting in myself.''

Ephesians 6 ''Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.''

Word of God, ''It's quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword,''

III. Depend Only On The Power Of God

vs 5 ''We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.''

The Church Talks Too Much About Money

    2 Corinthians 9: 6-15

    I. God Is The Source Of Every Blessing
    vs 10

II. When We Give God Gives Back More Than We Give
    vs 6

    bountiful - means blessing

grudgingly - means sorrowful, great sadness

cheerful- Greek word from which we get our word hilarious

is able- means literally has the power

III. Giving Is The Character of God

    Why Is Giving Important?

    2 Corinthians 8:10-24 (#20 in sermon series)

verse 24, ''Therefore, openly before the churches, show them the proof of your love and of our reason for boasting about you.''

    Why is giving so important?

Because giving is the proof of your love.

Acts 20: 35, ''remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.''

I believe God wants us to have an attitude of giving - living - giving going through life with an attitude

''Lord, everything I own is Yours, and so I want to hold it all loosely, and I want to be a giver.''

problem: They had pledged and then they weren't coming through with their pledge.

Truth number one: God wants us to give voluntarily and cheerfully.

vs 10, ''I give my opinion in this matter, and it's to your advantage to give. You were the first to begin a year ago not only to do this, but also to desire to do it.'' ''Remember when we brought this before you, you wanted to do it.'' He said, ''Now finish doing it also, that just as there was the readiness to desire it, so there may be also the completion of it by your ability. For if the readiness is present, it is acceptable according to what a man has, not according to what he does not have.''

11 Corinthians 9:7 ''Let each one do just as he as purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.''

Grudgingly- do not give with heaviness, sorrow, distressed

Truth number two: God wants us to give wisely

vs 13 -15. ''For this is not for the ease of others and for your affliction, but by way of equality - at this present time your abundance being a supply for their need, that their abundance also may become a supply for your need, that there may be equality; as it is written, 'HE WHO gathered MUCH DID NOT HAVE TOO MUCH, AND HE WHO gathered LITTLE HAD NO LACK.''

vs 16, ''But thanks be to God who puts the same earnestness on your behalf in the heart of Titus, for he not only accepted our appeal, but being himself very earnest, he has gone to you of his own accord. And we have sent along with him the brother whose fame in the things of the gospel has spread throughout all the churches.''

We see today in our country today a growing number of people that believe that socialism is the way to go. If you think socialism is the way to go look at what is what's going on in Venezuela, that country is being destroyed because of that kind of thinking.

11Thessalonians 3:10 This is what God says to the people who don't work:
''If a man will not work, neither shall he eat.''

Third truth: God wants us to give when there is accountability

vs 19, ''And not only this, but he has also been appointed by the churches as also been appointed by the churches to travel with us in this gracious work, which is being administered by us for the glory of the Lord Himself, and to show our readiness, taking precaution that no one should discredit us in our administration of this generous gift; for we have regard for what is honorable not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.''

''Lord, am I giving in accord with what You want me to do?''

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again, Rejoice! ~ Philippians 4:4

II. God Exchanges Nasty Rags For His Robe of Righteousness

“all our righteous acts are like filthy rags” ~ Isaiah 64:6

THERE ARE 2 WAYS OF ATTAINING RIGHTEOUSNESS

    1. Live a sinless life

    2. Accept the gift of righteousness from God by faith
“being justified by faith, we have peace with God” ~ Romans 5:1

Are You Prepared To Serve In The Role of Ambassador Of Jesus Christ?

    2 Corinthians 5:17-20 (#18)

    I. Our Citizenship Is In Heaven

OUR CHOICES ARE NOW INFLUENCED BY 3 THEMES:

First, Jesus Christ died for all our sins

Second, since all are dead spiritually, they all need Jesus to give them new life,

Third, once we have given him our lives, we no longer desire to live for ourselves but to live for him (5:15)

What is the role of political ambassador today?

    Webster’s Dictionary

“The highest-ranking diplomatic representative appointed by one country or government to represent it in another country or government”

“Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ, Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,” ~ Philippians 3:18-20

II. . We Are His Representatives

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.”
    ~ Matthew 28:18-19

III. A Message From The King Of The Universe

“He has committed to us the message of reconciliation’ ~ 2 Corinthians 5:19

    Are You Alive With Hope?

    2 Corinthians 5: 14-17 (#17)

    I. Do You Have Hope In Your Life?

JESUS CAME TO GIVE US LIFE – GIVE US MEANING - GIVE US JOY – GIVE US PURPOSE

II. Do You Love People Who Are Not Easy To Love?

Vs 16 “for now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.”

    IN HEAVEN’S EYES

In Heaven’s eyes, there are no losers.

In Heaven’s eyes, no hopeless cause

Only people like you, with feelings like me.

Amazed by the grace we can find in Heaven’s eyes.

III. As A Christian You Change From Your Past And Become The Present And Future In The Eyes of God

Vs 17 “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation”

“in Christ” found 172 times in New Testament

“the old has gone, the new has come”
