Do Believers and Muslim Worship The Same God?
Quran – Surah 5:72 teaches Muslims are so opposed to the belief Jesus is divine that it comdemns Jesus and his followers to hell. Allah of the Quran is not God of the Holy Bible Jesus Christ of the Quran is not Jesus Christ of the Holy
Quran – Surah  5:18 Muslims are to tell Jews and Christians they are not followers of the Lord Jesus Christ
Do not worship a generic God
A god of all faiths – god of all religions – god of all beliefs Jews, Muslims, and Christians all believe in one God But not in the one true God Not the same God How Should We Get Along With Muslims in America? We should be and I assume we are courteous, kind, and gracious to People of all faiths, and that includes Muslims Matthew 2: 11 “They entered the house and saw the child in the arms of Mary, his mother. Overcome, they kneeled and worshipped him. Then they opened their luggage and presented gifts: gold, frankincense, myrrh.” Not all Muslims are Islamic terrorists Part of the problem we as believers have in America today “we cannot love the Muslims because we do not even love the Christians we already know” ~ Kevin Miller Next Sunday: Will Radical Islam Come To America?

How To Handle The Times When God Is Silent
    Series: (All)
Luke 11:1 I. God Commands Us To Pray 1 Samuel 12:23 “Samuel said, ‘God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you.” Luke 18:1 “Always pray” Mark 14:38 Watch and pray” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing”
The Bible says ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you
ask - word actually means keep on
II. Silence Sometimes Means God Is Permitting Circumstances To Make You Usable For His Purpose
Romans 8:25-28 Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. The Holy Spirit does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That is why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God worked into something good.”

    How God Defines Love
    Series: (All)
John 13:34-35 (The Message) Jesus told his disciples, “Love one another. In the same way I love you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples – when they see the love you have for each other.”
    1. The Law of Love
“If you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.” (Matthew 5:23-24) Jesus is saying RECONCILIATION MUST PRECEDE WORSHIP UNRESOVED CONFLICT HAS FIRST PRIORITY DIFFERENCES IN THE FAMILY MUST BE SETTLED FIRST TRUE WORSHIP IS NOT ENHANCED BY BETTER MUSIC NOT ENHANCED BY MORE ELOQUENT PRAYERS NOT ENHANCED BY BEAUTIFUL ARCHITECTURE NOT ENHANCED BY  BETTER PREACHING TRUE WORSHIP IS ENHANCED BY BETTER RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THOSE WHO COME TO WORSHIP Reconcile - denotes to change from enemy to friend
    1. God’s Love Guiding Our Behavior In Church
“The entire law is summed up in a single command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself” ~ Galatians 5:14-15 “Sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like” ~ Galatians 5: 19-21 Then he issues a powerful statement: “I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God” ~ Gal. 5:21 Galatians 5: 15-17 “If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” Romans 14:4”Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.” “Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, love does not boast, love is not proud. Love is not rude, love is not self-seeking, love is not easily angered, love keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, love always trusts, love always hopes, love always perseveres. Love never fails.” Proverbs 10:12 “Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers all wrongs“If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over” ~ Matthew 18:15

What Is The Church’s Place In The World Today?
    Series: (All)
    Matthew 16:13-18
    I. Jesus Is The Cornerstone and You Are Living Stones
Jesus said, “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church”
     not a building
fellowship of people who have trusted Jesus as Savior Church – ecclesia – means a special group of people called out for God’s purpose. “I tell you that  you are Peter ( pebble) Greek word for small stone and upon this rock (petra –rocky mountain or peak) I will build my church.” 1 Corinthians 3:11 “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ”
“As you come to him, the living Stone, rejected by God but chosen by God and precious to him – you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house.” ~1 Peter 2:4-5
II. The Church Should Be In The Attack Mode
Hell- literal translation is Hades abode of the unrighteous dead before the final Great White Throne Judgment described in Revelation 20. Hades is a place of torment like hell Hades – literally means not to see. It is a place of utter darkness
    It is the underworld
Gates of Hades would be death
III. The Church Is To Share The Gospel
“There are two basic reasons people do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior:
    1. They have never met a Christian
    2. They have met a Christian
11 Corinthians 5:14-15 “Christ love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.”

    Is Heaven A Real Place?
    Series: (All)
    I. Is Heaven A Real Place?
    Three heavens:
Vs 6 talks about 1 st heaven – atmosphere
    Vs 14 talks about 2nd
    heaven – planetary atmosphere.
11 Corinthians 12:2 “I know a man in Christ who 14 years ago was caught up to the third heaven” Third heaven is the place where God reigns on his throne John 14 “I am going to prepare a place for you” Place-means a locality or region –
Acts 1:9  “After He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.”
II. What Will Life Be Like in Heaven?
Revelation 21:15-21 Revelation 21: 4”He will wipe every tear from their eyes” The city is going to be a perfect cube, 1500 miles wide, 1500 miles long, 1500 miles high. That is 2 billion and 7 hundred million cubic miles of space.
That is 15 times more surface than the entire surface of this earth.
III. Heaven Is Unlike Any Place In The Universe
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man goes to the Father, but through me”
Jesus said, “I am going to prepare a place for you. Come and go with me.”

“what shall it profit a man or a woman if he or she gains the whole world and loses his or her soul? And what shall a man or woman give in exchange for his or her soul?” ~ Matthew 16:26

    I. Invite Jesus To Be The Lord Of Your Life
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” ~ Romans 10:9-10 “If anyone will come after me he must deny himself”
Deny himself - this does not mean to give up possessions, stuff does not mean to give up something for awhile – not Lent

II. Prepare To Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus
Characteristics of following Jesus You will love people – even the obnoxious, critical ones Means you will have inner joy, inner peace Means you will be patient with yourself, with others Means you will be kind to yourself, to others Means you will place yourself under the control of Jesus Means you will spend time in prayer – bible reading everyday III. Being A Believer Means You Follow Jesus According To His Leadership and Not Your Ego “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You are not in the driver’s seat; I am” ~ Mark 8: 34 (The Message) Vs 34 “if anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” " There can be only on fuehrer for Christians, and it isn’t Adolph Hitler. It is Jesus Christ.”  ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer “The opposite of wasting your life is to live by a single, soul-satisfying passion for the supremacy of God in all things.  If you want your life to count, if you want the ripple effect of the pebbles you drop to become waves that reach the ends of the earth and roll on into eternity, you to know one great all-embracing thing-and be set on fire by it. Like Paul, declare, ‘ I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.’” ~ John Piper
