    The Father’s House

    John 14:1-6; Revelation 21

(John 14:1), "'Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.' Thomas said to Him, 'Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?' Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

Revelation 21:1 John is writing. "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

verse 15 "The Angel speaking with me had a gold measuring stick to measure the City, its gates, and its wall. The City was laid out in a perfect square. He measured the city with the measuring stick, 1,500 square miles, length, width, and height all equal. The wall was jasper, the color of glory, and the city was pure gold, translucent as glass.”

“I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its Lamp……Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”

    I. Heaven Is A Prepared Place

Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place.”

"I am preparing a place for those that I love."

Revelation 21:27 "Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life."

An amazing statistic is that 75% of Americans think that they can get to heaven because of their actions.

But the Bible never says that. “Not by works lest any should boast”

"There is no saving work unless there is a changed life."

There are some words that are not going to be in heaven:

Nouns that will not be in heaven: Death, stain, sorrow, revenge, hatred, rivalry, sickness, wrong, war, anger, hurt, pretense, hypocrisy, perversion, compromise, blame, peril, danger, opinion, treason, crime, shame and embarrassment.

Verbs that will not be in heaven: compete, subdue, annoyed, bothered, pretend, disturb, disagree, quarrel, fight, criticize, belittle, and scorn-not in heaven.

Adjectives: separate, dirty, cheap, repulsive, arrogant, ugly, wounded, persnickety, tired, and bored - not in heaven

II. Heaven Is A Protected Place

Revelation 21:25 "On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there."

"In heaven there are going to be walls, but the gates are open."

III. Heaven Is A Place Of Great Beauty

Revelation 21:3 says "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God."

    God Loves The Church
    Series: (All)
“God can do anything, you know – far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Glory to God in the church! Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus! Glory down all the generations!” Ephesians 3:20-21
    I. The Composition of The Church
Notice he uses the term “us”

II. The Conduct of The Church
    “God works within us”
Detractor- one who disparages someone or something.
A detractor is a person who has very little positive to say about the church.
A Detractor votes no because someone has to vote no.
“Jesus gave this charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life,…..instructing them in the practice of all I have commanded you." Matthew 28:20

Robert Macmillan, a scientist, said, "My judgment is that in the spread of socially-wholesome, forward-looking, progressive government and activity in this country, it would not be possible without a strong church. And when the church stops being strong, then corruption will soon destroy the democratic process."
1 Corinthians 12 Paul talks about the church being the body: vs 1 “the body is a unit made up of many parts. He is speaking of unity and harmony of the church.”
Vs 13 “ We are all baptized into one body by one spirit”
Vs 14 -20 He says, “the body is made up not of one part, but on many parts. Not everybody is an eye; not everybody is an ear-your body's not like that-so.”
vs 21 to 25, he de-emphasizes the sense of independence. He says “you can't be where you say that the weaker person is dispensable and the strong person is who we need. He says we are not independent or self sufficient. We need each other.”
vs 25 and 26, he says “we are to support each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers. If one part is honored, every part rejoices.
vs 27, "Now you are the body of Christ and each one of you is a part of it."

verses 15-17, ''Call her in, said Elisha. Gehazi his servant did and she came and stood in the doorway. Elisha sais, This time next year you are going to be nursing an infant son.
