How To Handle Loneliness
Luke 6:27-31, 38

"Look to the right and see, for there is no one who regards me. There is no escape for me. No one cares for my soul."

Luke 6:27, "But I say to you who hear, love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreat you. Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also. And whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either. Give to everyone who asks of you and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. And just as you want people to treat you treat them in the same way."

vs 38 "Give and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over. They will pour into your lap. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return."

I. When You Feel Lonely Give To God

"Give Me your heart, my son, and let your eyes delight in My ways." ~ Proverbs 23:26

"There is a friend that sticks closer than a brother." ~ Proverbs 18:24

“I will not, never, never leave you; I will not, never forsake you.” ~ Hebrews 13:5

vs35, "Love your enemies and do good and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men."

    How To Handle Depression
Series: How To Handle Your Emotions #4
    1 Kings 19

Depression - "An emotional state of exaggerated feelings of sadness & intense discouragement that causes negative circumstances to pass through a cloud of darkness into your life."

Elijah- means My God is Jehovah

Elijah said, "Hey, let's find out who God really is. If God is God, if Yahweh Jehovah is God, let's serve Him. But if Baal is god, let's serve him. How long as we going to hesitate, people, between two opinions? Let's decide who is God and let's serve that God, but let's quit straddling the fence."

    I. If You Are Struggling Examine Your Physical Condition

vs 5"And he (Elijah) laid down and slept under a juniper tree. And, behold, there was an angel touching him. And he said to him, Arise, eat. Then he looked and, behold, there was at his head a bread cake baked on hot stones and a jar of water. So he ate and drank and lay down again. And the angel of the Lord came a second time and touched him and said, Arise, eat, because the journey is too great for you. So he arose and ate and drank and went in the strength of that food 40 days and 40 nights to Horeb, the mountain of God."

II. If You Are Struggling Examine Your Spiritual Condition

Vs 9 "Then he (Elijah) came to a cave and lodged there. And, behold, the word of the LORD came to him and He said to him, What are you doing here, Elijah? And he said, I've been very zealous for the LORD, the God of hosts, for the sons of Israel have forsaken your covenant, torn down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. And I alone am left, and they seek my life to take it away. So he said, Go forth and stand on the mountain before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD was passing by."

"So He said to him (verse 11), Go forth and stand on the mountain before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD was passing by. And a great and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the LORD. But the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind came an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake, a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire, a sound of a gentle blowing, a still, small voice. And it came about when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. And, behold, a voice came to him and said, What are you doing here, Elijah?"

Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD; not for calamity, but for welfare, to give you a future and a hope."

    III. Are You Self-Centered?

    Lessons To Be Learned
    1. God looks for broken people at difficult times
    2. God’s methods are often surprising
    3. God Looks For People Who Are Willing To Stand Alone

    How To Handle Anxiety
    Matthew 6:25-34
Series: How To Handle Your Emotions #3

Anxiety - Means to divide the mind

    Worry – means to strangle

"For this reason, I say to you, do not be anxious for your life as to what you shall eat, or what you should drink, nor for your body as to what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: that they do not sow, neither do they reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single cubit to his life span? And why are you anxious about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow. They do not toil, nor do they spin, yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these. But if God so arrayed the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown in the furnace, will He not much more do so for you, oh men of little faith. Do not be anxious then, saying, What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or with what shall we clothe ourselves, for all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." ~ Matthew 6: 25-34

    I. For Believers God Is Our Father There Is No Reason To Be Anxious

"Listen. If I feed the birds, how much more am I going to feed you?
If I clothe the lilies of the field in tremendous splendor, more so than Solomon ever clothed himself, and the lilies of the field are alive today and tomorrow they're thrown into the furnace, how much more will I do for you?"

"Trust Me with your life. Trust Me to take care of you."
    VS 30 Worry's a faith issue”

When We Worry We Are Saying To God 3 things

    (1) God, I do not believe you are aware my situation

Psalm 139 David said, "You know when I sit down and when I rise up. You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there was a word on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it all."

Vs 32 "Your Father knows that you need all these things."

    (2) God you are indifferent – unmoved – ignoring

Of my situations When we worry, we say that to God.

"God, You're not willing. God, You don't care."

1 Peter 5: 7 "Cast all your cares upon God because He cares for you."

    (3) God you are inadequate for this situation

"Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all we ask of think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory." ~ Ephesians 3:20

II. Recognize God Owns All Of Our Possessions

Psalm 24:1 "The earth is the LORD’S and all it contains."

III. Remember God Controls Our Future

“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers – most of which are never seen – don’t you think He will attend to you, take pride in you, do His best for you? What I am trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving.

People who don’t know God and the way He works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how God works.
    Steep your life in God-reality
    God – initiative
    God provisions
    Don’t worry about missing out.
You will find all your everyday concerns will be met

Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes. Vs 30-34

    How To Release Anger

“The Lord said, Do you have good reason to be angry?” ~ Jonah 4:4

    (1) Decide right now you will release your anger

    (2) Let God handle those who have intended to do you harm..

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves…..vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith
    The Lord.” ~ Romans 12:19

    (3) Forgive those who have hurt you so you can begin to live again.

    (4) Reject your arrogant and controlling attitude and humble yourself before God

“So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; He will promote you at the right time.” 1 Peter 5:6 (The Message)

He owned 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 teams of oxen, and 500 female donkeys. He also had many servants. He was, in fact, the richest person in the entire area.” ~ Job 1:1-3

    Does Our Worship Please God?
    Series: Worship 101
    Matthew 15:7-8

"You shall worship the LORD your God and Him only shall you serve."

Matthew 15 "Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying, why your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread? And He answered and said to them, and why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? For God said HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER, and HE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER IS TO BE PUT TO DEATH. But you say, whoever shall say to his father or mother, anything of mine you might have been helped by has been given to God, he is not to honor his father or his mother. And thus, you invalidated the Word of God for the sake of your tradition." Now here it comes: "You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, this people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me. But in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men."

    "You guys worship in vain."

    I. Worship That Pleases God Comes From Our Heart

Some times church services are simply what we do on Sunday.

Have you ever asked yourself the question
    DOES MY WORSHIP PLEASE GOD?
DOES MY WORSHIP COME FROM MY HEART?

"This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me," But in vain do they worship me."

"Any time you do that and you just go through the motions, and you just give Me lip service, but your heart is far away, that's vain worship

II. Worship That Is Pleasing To God Is Full of Life

Luke 15 where we find the story of the prodigal son, Jesus said, "There is more joy in heaven over 1 sinner who repents than 99 righteous people who need no repentance."

“you are correct, we do not and let Me tell you what you do. You elevate the traditions of men above the Word of God. That's what you do."

Do you ever do that - set aside the commandment of God to hold on to your tradition?

Because God is the best, High King over all the gods. In one hand he holds deep caves and caverns, in the other hand grasps high mountains. He made ocean – he owns it! His hands sculpted earth! So come, let us worship: bow before Him on your knees before God, who made us! Oh yes, he is our God, and we are the people of His pastures, the flock He feeds.” ~ Psalm 95: 1-7 (The Message)

    2. Bubba Claus has switched his sled from being pulled by reindeer to flying coon dogs.
    3. The names of the flying coon dogs are not Comet – Cupid – Donner – Blitzen – etc. The names will now be

    I. God Is Never Late With His Gift

“There is an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on this earth: A time for birth and a time for death. A right time to plant and another to reap” and continues talking about time.
