Will God Continue To Bless America? Judges 8: 28-9:21
As children we never called an adult by their first name. It was always Mr. or Mrs. So and so. If we grew up in the South, our parents drilled into us saying, please and thank you. Handwriting thank you notes. Not an email, not a text. Welcoming a new neighbor with a small gift. Taking off your hat indoors. Saying “you are welcome” Giving your undivided attention to those you are speaking with, not your phone, or tablet. Never interrupting personal conversation to take a non-emergency telephone call. Holding the door open for the person behind you. When you do talk on your phone in a public place, please lower your voice, so only the person on the phone can hear you, not those people who are immediately around you. Memorial Day Video

    The Powerful Attitude of Humility
    Philippians 2: 3-11
"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For I am gentle and humble of heart."
    I. Our biggest problem as human beings is Pride

How To Have A Positive Attitude In Adversity
    Numbers 11:1-3 (4th in Series)

    I. Why Do We Complain When Adversity Strikes?

    Philippians 2:14
"Do all things without grumbling or disputing or arguing. Do all things without grumbling."
    Grumbling – means muttering

Numbers 14:27: "How long shall I bear with this evil generation who are grumbling against Me. I have heard the complaints of the sons of Israel which they are making against Me."

    You're grumbling against Me."

Here is an important lesson for us today:
WHEN WE COMPLAIN, MUTTER, GRUMBLE ABOUT THE ADVERSITY IN OUR LIVES – GOD HEARS AND BELIEVES WE ARE MUTTERING AGAINST HIM
    ALL AUTHORITY COMES FROM GOD
WHEN WE MUTTER AGAINST OUR LEADERS
BE IT IN GOVERNMENT, CHURCH, HOME, CIVIC CLUBS
    God takes it personally
Because ALL AUTHORITY COMES FROM GOD
WE ARE TO RESPECT THOSE WHO ARE IN AUTHORITY OVER US
    WE MAY NOT ALWAYS AGREE
BUT WE ARE NOT TO BE UGLY, UNKIND, MURMING, COMPLAINING

II. Why Do We Cease To Be Thankful When Adversity Enters?Numbers 11: 4
"And the rabble, the mixed multitude, the non-Jews that came out of Egypt with them, the rabble who were among them had greedy desires."

Psalm 78 "And He rained down manna upon them to eat and gave them food from heaven. Man did eat the bread of angels."

III. Why Do We Become Angry at God When Adversity Hits?

Psalm 62:8 "Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him."

3 John 1: 2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that you will prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers.”
Psalm 1: 3 “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in season; his leaf shall not whither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Jabez, the name means "pain sorrow-maker"
John 15:8 "By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be My disciples."
Psalm 81: 10 "I am the LORD your God who brought you up out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide and I will fill it."
II. Be Prepared For The Results of Big Blessings
1st Peter 2: 9-10 "But you but you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light, for you once were not a people but now you are the people of God. You had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."
III. Pray For More Of God’s Power In Your Life
John 15 :5 "I am the vine. You are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing."

    1 Peter 1:3-5

Verse 3 “according to his great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
John 1:12  "For as many as received Christ, to them he gave the power to become sons and daughters of God-even to them that trust in His name.
II. We Receive A Living Hope
Matthew 28:2 the angels moved the stone
"This is the power of hope.  You have a new life in you based on the resurrection of Jesus Christ and its confident assurance."
    III.We Receive An Inheritance
I Peter 1:4 "and into an inheritance which is imperishable & undefiled, and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.” Peter describes it three ways: First: It will never perish, which means it is undying. Second: it won't fade away.  "... you have an inheritance that is not faded."  Third: Notice that it is kept for you, unconquerable. He uses a military word here: protected. "Until the coming of that salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time."

    1. Jesus Begins To Cry
Scripture only records Jesus crying two times:
    1. At the grave of Lazarus
    2. Palm Sunday. Jesus looked at the city of Jerusalem
    3. Saw the faces of the crowd – empty – stressed – searching
“As He approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and he said, if you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come when your enemies will build an embankment against you & encircle you & hem you in on every side.  They will dash you to the ground, you & the children within your walls.  They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.” Luke 19: 41-44
    1. What Jesus Accomplished On The Cross
word Tetelestai - means PAID IN FULL Many of our old hymns speak of his shed blood “Would you be free from the burden of sin? There is power in the blood Would you over evil a victory win There is wonderful power in the blood There is power, power, wonder working power In the blood of the Lamb There is power, power, wonder working power In the blood of the Lamb”   “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus Oh, precious is the flow That makes me white as snow No other fount I know. Nothing but the blood of Jesus” Ephesians 1: 7 “In him we have redemption, through his blood, the forgiveness of sin, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”   Revelation 1:5  declares that Jesus “……loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood”   1 Peter 1: 18-19 tells us “….it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” “Seek first the kingdom of God and all other things will be added to you.”
