I. What It Means To Be Unsaved
Verse 15“saw the madman sitting there wearing decent clothes and making sense, no longer a walking madhouse of a man” I Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant, for your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour."   Ephesians 2:2 “in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air….” (NASV) Ephesians 3:17 “….Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in…” “For we are not fighting against flesh & blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places” ~ Ephesiasn 6:12 (NLT) Washington Post-ABC News Poll 63% of Americans are uncomfortable with our nations overall direction on social issues 4 in 10 feel strongly uncomfortable with moral direction 51% of non-whites are uncomfortable with moral direction 2/3rds of all women are uncomfortable with moral direction 50% of those under 30yrs of age uncomfortable with moral direction
Vs 5 “Night and day he roamed through the graves and the hills, screaming out and slashing himself with sharp stones.”
II. Jesus Wants To Be Our Savior
Verse 8 “Jesus had just commanded the tormenting evil spirit, ‘Out! Get out of the man’ Vs 6”when he saw Jesus a long way off, he ran and bowed in worship before him-then bellowed in protest.” III. What Happens When We Are Saved? Vs 15 “They came up to Jesus and saw a madman sitting there wearing decent clothes and making sense, no longer a walking madhouse of a man” verse 18 “As Jesus was getting into the boat, the demon-delivered man begged to go along” verse 19, "Go home to your own people. Tell them your story—what the Master did, how he had mercy on you” “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” ~ 11 Corinthians 4: 8-9 verse 20 says "He departed and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him

    physical disease.
     
    I. Disease Originated With Sin In Garden Of Eden

    Verse 12 "covered with leprosy."

    Vs 12 “when he saw Jesus, he fell down before him in prayer”

    The Bible says, "Wherefore He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think." 

    "He is able to save to the uttermost those who come unto God by Him." 
     
    II. Jesus Cares For Those With Health Challenges

    “Jesus was moved with compassion”

    COMPASSION- means to feel with your heart

    Hebrews tells us ‘HE IS TOUCHED WITH OUT INFIRMITIES”

    "He put out his hand and he touched him."

    Vs 13 “then and there the his skin was smooth, the leprosy gone”

    Vs 14 “Don’t talk about this all over town”  simply go to the priest and make an offering for your cleansing”

    IT IS DIFFICULT FOR US TO ACCEPT BUT THE TRUTH IS IT IS NOT ALWAYS THE WILL OF GOD TO BRING PHYSICAL HEALING INTO OUR LIVES

There is a spiritual message to those of us who are believers We are to be involved in bringing people to Jesus We are to be inviting people to church We are to teach the Word of God in Sunday School We are to preach the Word of God in worship celebration I. Who Is In Control Of Your Life? “Follow me and I will make you to become fishers of people” "Launch out into the deep.  Let down your nets for a catch." I can only imagine what Simon Peter was thinking I can hear him now because he was not passive Mouth always engaged before the brain could have a clear thought wait a minute, Jesus, you're a carpenter.  I'm a fisherman.   know carpentry.  I know fishing.  You tend to your business. I'll tend to mine." That is experience talking – arrogance talking Self will I am in charge of my life
    "master" in verse 5 means overseer or captain of the boat.

    Simon Peter was a risk taker. Verse 28 - ''And Peter said to him, Lord if it is you, command me to come to you on the water''

Instead, you out to say, If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that. As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil.”~ James 4: 13-16
    Worry – English word comes from a German word which means to strangle
     
    II. Don’t Procrastinate – Obey God Today
    “If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done” ~ Ecclesiastes 11:4 Zig Ziglar  “If you wait until all the traffic lights on the street are green, you will never go anywhere”
    “Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins” ~ James 4:17
     
    III. Refuse To Entertain Envy In Your Spirit
    Proverbs 14:30 “A tranquil heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to  bones” Psalm 37:1 “ Fret not yourself because of the wicked, be not envious of wrongdoers.

     2. Borrowing for items that depreciate
    Greed – is wanting things you cannot afford “Take care! Protect yourself against the least bit of greed. Life is not defined By what you have, even when you have a lot.” ~Luke 12:15 Proverbs 21: 5 “Good planning and hard work leads to prosperity” 3 kinds of money managers in our culture
    1. Those who carry massive debt.
    2. These live paycheck to paycheck.
    3. These people have become debt free

    Never discipline when you are angry

    Do not  threaten

    Talk before and after discipline
     
    Be Certain You Praise your children more than you discipline them

    II. Why Biblical Discipline Is Important

    Proverbs 23: 13-14 “Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die.  Punish him with the rod and save his soul from death.”
